KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Mueller's(R) Pasta is
partnering with the American Diabetes Association in Connecticut for this
year's Tour de Cure, the association's annual fundraising cycling event. As
part of the partnership, Mueller's will provide pasta for the more than 500
cyclists and volunteers estimated to participate in the ride.
"We are extremely proud to partner with the American Diabetes
Association to help refuel the cyclists taking part in this year's Tour De
Cure," said Drew Lericos, Vice President of Marketing for American Italian
Pasta Company. "As a healthy and delicious way for athletes to receive the
nutrients they need to stay energized, we were more than happy to provide
Mueller's Pasta to support this important event and the American Diabetes
Association."
"The American Diabetes Association is grateful to have the support of
Mueller's Pasta, not only because it helps to re-fuel our volunteers, but
donations like these help to ensure that funds raised will be used as
intended -- to prevent and cure diabetes, and improve the lives of all
people affected by diabetes," said Robert Smith, Executive Director for the
ADA in Connecticut.
The Tour de Cure is held in 40 states nationwide. On June 8, 2008,
cyclists will gather at the Gateway Community College in North Haven, CT to
take part in the event. The tour features courses for all levels of
ability, with routes ranging from a 10k family ride to an experienced 100
mile ride. All proceeds from the Tour benefit the American Diabetes
Association and the 250,000 Connecticut neighbors living with diabetes.
